Sensor monitoring

Permanent sensors for cracks, tilt, water and temperature.

Automated sensors continuously and autonomously measure specific physical quantities: crack width, tilt, groundwater level, pressure, temperature or strain. They complement geodetic measurements and deliver a high measurement frequency at hard-to-reach points.

Which sensors?

Depending on the risk, we select the appropriate sensors. They connect to a data logger that stores readings locally and transmits them wirelessly to the monitoring platform.

  • Crack meters for movement in joints and cracks
  • Inclinometers and tilt meters
  • Piezometers for groundwater level and water pressure
  • Strain and load sensors on anchors and struts
  • Temperature and humidity sensors

High frequency, low maintenance cost

Sensors measure from a few times per day to several times per second. Powered by battery or mains, they are ideal for points that are hard to reach optically.

The data comes together in the same dashboard as the geodetic measurements, so you can correlate all information in one place.

Applications

  • Crack monitoring in existing buildings
  • Groundwater management during dewatering
  • Stability of sheet piling and slopes
  • Load on temporary structures
Advantages: Very high measurement frequency · Works on inaccessible points · Low operational cost · Combinable with geodesy
